John Wyatt Eades is the brother of Adele and Constance Eades, the father of Lena and the late husband of Sarafine. He was a Light Caster and an Evanescent, a Caster that can make objects disappear and make them reappear in their possession. He was the lover of Sarafine back when she was younger, having met her right before her Sixteenth Moon, and wanted to be with her even when aware of what could happen to her as a result of being a Duchannes family, although Sarafine lied to him about when her exact birth date was for the sake of not scaring him. He eventually married her and went on to have a baby with her- Lena. When he found out about her spending time with Abraham Ravenwood, he threatened to take Lena away if she were to go back to him, knowing of his evil influence on her. Knowing it was too late to save any good in Sarafine, he secretly plotted to take baby Lena with him and to take off with her. When Sarafine eventually discovered his plan, she became enraged at him and killed him in a fire that she created when she lost control of her darkness and simply walked away as the house burned down along with him and their daughter in it.
